Henry County R-1 School District
"Home of the Greyhounds"
The Windsor School District covers approximately 160 square miles and is located in parts of Henry, Benton, Pettis, and Johnson Counties with its geographical center located in Windsor. The district has an active Parent / Teacher Organization (PTO), as well as other support groups for both athletics and music.
"Our Mission is to empower students to be competent, productive, responsible and caring citizens." The Henry County R-1 School District offers a variety of academic offerings ranging from college prep and gifted to vocational, agriculture, and work preparation to special services for special needs students. The elementary program places emphasis on reading and mathematics. The district is a member of the I-70 Conference and competes in football, basketball, track, golf, volleyball, baseball, and softball. Students also compete in vocal and instrumental music, speech, science, and math.
The School District provides a wonderful opportunity for small town living with big city programs. The academic courses match those of larger school systems and the athletic program is extensive, offering students tremendous potential to excel in all traditional sports and golf. Nearly any extra-curricular and co-curricular program available in a large city school system is offered to Windsor students.
Windsor Schools offer students a classroom environment with a great student-teacher ratio, taught by caring faculty in a rural community. Our faculty and administration are primarily local residents with long-term interest in the results of their educational investment in our students. There are several citizen groups that have developed an outstanding relationship with the district and faculty and, coupled with high supportive parents, ensure superb support in the academic, athletic, and co-curricular activities of Windsor students.
